Al Mamoura Academy is a mixed gender primary school and a girl’s only secondary school located in a state of the art building in the heart of Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will combine an excellent track record of successful leadership experience, developed in the UK or internationally. They will possess strong inter-personal skills and cultural awareness with the ability to inspire the Al Mamoura community and manage the demands and needs of all stakeholders. Exceptional communication skills combined with being a visible leader and ambassador for the school are central to this role.  The role requires strategic thinking with a firm grasp of how to ensure outstanding teaching and learning across the school. Candidates must be committed to working in partnership as a through school, with the local community and developing ways to engage with parents and forge effective partnerships with them.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Key tasks:
  • To deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Roles and responsibilities include:
    • Teamwork and collaboration.
    • To be a good communicator at all levels.
    • Be committed to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community.
    • Working alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet the requirements of the English National Curriculum.
    • Liaising with colleagues and a flexible approach to working.
    • Working with parents to ensure student well being and academic success is guaranteed for all students.
    • Working cooperatively with curriculum support staff to support children’s development.
  1. Teaching and learning:
  • Teaching all areas of the Primary Curriculum.
  • Organising the classroom, learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment.
  • Planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
  • Seeking advice and putting support in place for students with EAL or who have additional learning needs.
  • Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation.
  • Marking children’s work in line with the Al Mamoura Academy Marking and Feedback policy.
  • Being reflective of lessons taught and student progress made, and adjusting planning and curriculum to reflect this.
  • Meeting with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists,if required.
  • Ensure the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attributes are being embedded throughout the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching and learning across the school by sharing best practice, participating in school CPD and T&L initiatives.
  1. Assessment and data:
  • Taking responsibility for the attainment and progress of a class of primary-age pupils.
  • Meeting the requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development using Target Tracker.
  • Using data provided by assessments to influence further planning and intervention.
  • Providing feedback to parents and carers on a student’sprogress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
  • To plan, prepare and contribute to termly Pupil Progress meetings.
  1. Behaviour management and duties:
  • To follow the Al Mamoura Academy behaviour management policy and promote the Mascot Manners to set high expectations.
  • Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to pupils’ needs in order to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • Maintain good relationships with pupils and parents and follow the schools procedures to manage and challenge unwanted behaviour.
  • Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positiveattitudes, values and behaviour which are expected of pupils.
  • Carry out playground and other duties in a punctual and proactivemanner.
  • Ensure that any concerns relating to behaviour & Safeguarding are accurately logged on CPOMS.
  1. Wider professional responsibilities
  • To work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources and special events linked to that team.
  • Support the organising and taking part in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers with regards to student’s  achievements and well-being using school systems/processes such as CPOMS as appropriate.
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the School.
  • Run a weekly ECA each term.

       Leadership Role: Head of Science (Nursery-Y4):

  • To ensure that there is clear strategic direction and development for Science.
  • To develop the Teaching and Learning of Science across all year groups and contribute to the subjects MER.
  • To lead and manage the Science Curriculum Action Group.
  • To ensure there is efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources within the subject.
  • To contribute to the schools application of the PQSM.
  • To undertake other duties which may be reasonably assigned by the line manager or school Principal.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor degree in Education or Bachelor Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years Teaching experience in English National Curriculum
