IT Support and Research specialist Jobs in Saudi Arabia

KEY CHALLENGES

1. To innovatively design, develop, manage, and maintain the IT infrastructure at the National Maritime Academy.

KEY ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating
WordPress themes and plugins.
2. Designing and implementing new features and functionality
3. Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
4. Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the
CMS
5. Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
6. Assess infrastructure on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet necessary demands
7. Develop new strategies and IT procedures to increase efficiency, enhance workflow and improve company team satisfaction
8. Coordinate the IT needs of NMA local staff, remote employees, vendors and contractors
9. Protect customer data from outside infiltration through encryption, secure data storage and other necessary means
10. Install new hardware and software and help train employees on its use

GENERAL

1. Implement NMAs policies, particularly those relating to inclusion, equality and diversity
2. To implement Health and Safety and security measures in accordance with statutory and NMA requirements
3. Be a role model supporting NMA values and corporate management
4. Actively develop his/herself through staff development and training activities and to review their own performance and the performance of those who are responsible to them
5. Undertake any other duties consistent with the key responsibilities and duties of the job, as directed

Qualifications and Training A) Degree in a IT related discipline
B) English Language to IELTS 6.0 Band

Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools {{such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial}}
Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
Proficiency in working with Abode suite
Good understanding of IT hardware and networking infrastructure
Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
Ability to work as a team member

Effective interpersonal skills
Fluency in written and spoken English
Ability to plan and organize
