Description

Duties

 

  • Ensure that hotel data is secured and in line with stated standards and best practices
  • Ensure Access Control is in line with stated standards and best practices
  • Manage the local process for event management, enhancements and application fixes.
  • Ensure regular self-evaluations of IT practices are completed and communicated.
  • Source, evaluate and implement local solutions where appropriate
  • Manage local implementation projects & testing of applications and hardware upgrades.
  • Ensure the hotel adopts and maintains brand standards for guests and business services in relation to IT services and offerings.
  • Consistently promote the brand in the local site and encourage the use of the brand by IT suppliers.
  • Ensure up-to-date hardcopies of department SOPs are always maintained.
  • Update SOPs as and when needed.
  • Communicate new or amended procedures to relevant departments/ colleagues in a timely manner, ensuring they have been understood.
  • Control department forms and records according to the Shangri-La standards for Document Control.
  • Provide consultancy to better expedite access and the better use of information in the property.
  • Ensure that ‘Events’ are managed according to the SOP.
  • Ensure satisfaction on all guest’s IT queries to defined standards.
  • Ensure that standards are communicated and maintained in the property.
  • Manages conflicts effectively
  • Motivates and inspires others to perform.
  • Collects and analyzes relevant and accurate information about a problem
  • Seeks innovative solutions
  • Constantly reviews in order to improve
  • Manages time and resources effectively

 

Administration      

 

  • Providing a healthy environment for the IT Support team

 

Operational               

 

  • Supervise all activities within the IT Support team
  • Maintain and update the required standards
  • Monitor the quality and performance of IT support and if necessary improve

 

Financial                    

 

  • Identify and propose opportunities to augment revenue opportunities

 

Other Duties              

 

  • Provide consultancy to better expedite access and the better use of information in the property.
  • Identify and ensure all hotel data has ownership and accountability within the organization
  • Ensure a successor is identified and trained to the standard
  • Provide IT support to other properties in the organization when required.
  • Cross Train other hotels IT personnel to provide cover
  • Sets and strives to achieve high personal performance standards
  • Plans organize and use a systematic approach to getting things done
  • Priorities actions and manages tasks through to completion
  • Actively seeks opportunities to develop and learn from experience at all levels.
