The Head – Applications Support will oversee all business applications and related activities to develop and manage application portfolios for each department and to attain all IT service level agreements for the user community within the organization.

Responsibilities:

Planning

Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
Review and analyze existing applications effectiveness and efficiency and develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
Deploy/Test plans development

Acquisition & Deployment

Research and recommend software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
Evaluate new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and advise based on findings.
Contribute to pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas, and make the appropriate recommendations.
Liaise with company’s software suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.

Operations Management

Maintain systems in production environments post deployment
Oversee periodic penetration test and code review reports pre-deployment
Supervise system health check controls
Lead the application team in support of business operations.
Liaise with network administrators, DBAs and software engineers to assist with quality assurance, program logic, and data processing.
Monitor inventory of company software and systems assets and their corresponding contracts/agreements.
Develop and communicate training and documentation for end users, hold clinics as necessary, and other user-related activities.
Evaluate system performance from service level perspective with the development team according to the best practices
Develop, distribute, and coordinate in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new systems or applications.

Skills

Qualifications:

Education

B.S. or B.A. or above degree in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

Areas Of Experience

Demonstrate experience in leading cross-functional project teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills
Strong Leadership Skillset
Adherence to SAMA and NCA frameworks
Adherence to deployment regulation in SAMA and NCA frameworks
Experience leading at least one full enterprise ERP implementation
General understanding of different development techniques and languages

Years Of Experience

A minimum of 10 years’ experience in an MS heavy technology environment.
